Back in August 1981 I visited the aircraft storage facility at Marana airfield, Arizona. There I was able to capture the wonderful American Eagle B707-321B registered N404PA. Alongside it stood an American 707-123B with tail code N7572A. It didn’t have the familiar tailfin antenna, I always wondered why?
Wondering through the hot and dusty desert had its additional dangers. To make a good picture of the American Eagle 707 I had to bend down on my knees in the bushes, with the change of being bitten my a rattlesnake! We were offered to stay overnight at the Evergreen Air Center, which is located at Marana. And the following morning at opening the curtains I was gazing at several American Airlines 707 tail fins….aahhhh what romantic.
Boeing Field 7th August 1981. While photographing the heavily damaged Aeroamerica B720 N733T I noticed the sign: ‘Worlds most experienced airline’ on the passenger stairs next to the a/c!
Amsterdam International Airport June 1979: Jordanian World Airways B707-321C JY-AED.
Also at Amsterdam was this Global International Boeing 707-323C series N8417 which was leased to EATSCO. I spotted this obscure outfit at Schiphol East during April 1982.
During the summer of 1979, this Tradewinds cargo B707-323C registered G-SAIL made frequent visit at Amsterdam Airport. Flying many charters between Holland and the African continent it always parked at the Schiphol East ramp
Nigeria Airways B707-3F9C Jetliner 5N-ABJ is seen at Amsterdam Airport (September 1982) on its weekly passenger service.
I always admired the Nile Safaris Aviation beautiful logo. I photographed its Boeing 707-330C ST-AKW on the ground at Amsterdam Airport during August 1998. The mainly Christian airline company was received a hard time by Islamic government of Sudan.
Brussels Airport on a grey and dull day (July 1978) is where I encountered this ex Luxair Boeing 707-138B LX-LGW which was leased by Sobelair.
My first and only visit to Colombia I was able to photograph the first ever Boeing 707 for Tampa Colombia. Seen at Medellin airport (December 1980) is HK-2401X which was built as a model -373C series.
